About Me

Hello!

I’m Alessia Kowalyk, a third-year graduate in Graphic and Web Design. In my free time, I love to draw, paint, and do other arts and crafts, whether it’s for myself or friends and family. When I create artwork, I make sure it is curated specifically for that person, reflecting their personality to make sure they like it. I also love to play sports, like hockey and soccer, enjoy snowboarding, and I’m learning how to play the guitar.

The experience I have gained from my extracurricular interests, like teamwork and responsibility, has positively contributed to my years in my program. It’s always exciting to see what teamwork can create in the final designs, as well as what I can achieve on my own. Take a look at my portfolio.

My Goals

I aim to become an expert in the world of design.  I look forward to working in a team setting and collaborating on diverse and exciting projects.

During the summer, I will be focused on improving my design skills, continuing to add to my portfolio, and creating original projects for clients.

My Dream

I’m hoping that the experience I will gain in the short and medium term will allow me the opportunity to fulfill one of my personal objectives, which is to create advertisement designs for the Olympics, as well as other high-profile organizations, like the NHL, Formula One, Nike, Adidas, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.  Being able to create designs for these organizations and companies would be a dream come true.

 Where I See Myself

I’m very motivated to start my career specializing in the sports and clothing niche, since these are what I have always enjoyed for most of my life. I have played various sports in different settings (League, Recreational, after-school programs, etc.) my entire life, and have always loved creating different clothing designs, like logos, illustrations, etc., just for fun. I would love to take this love from such a young age and turn it into a reality.

My Long-Term Goals (In 5 to 10 Years…)

In the next few years, I will focus on becoming a highly successful graphic designer by keeping track of trends and various cultures. Not only will this make my work extremely interesting, exciting, and relevant, but it will also provide great benefit to the company I will work for. I also see myself working towards increasing my leadership abilities in order to advance my career and eventually manage teams.
