THE 4 DESIGN RULES OF C.R.A.P

For this project, I created a booklet that’s easy for anyone to learn The 4 Design Rules of C.R.A.P.

Project: C.R.A.P Booklet Design

Design Process

For this booklet, I decided to go with the theme of ducks, since this makes it easier for people at any age to understand The 4 Design Rules of C.R.A.P. Ducks are usually thought of as a toy in a bubble bath, so I added some bubbles throughout the pages. The ducks are the main examples of this booklet, however, while I was deciding how to design the booklet, I came up with the idea of using the bubbles as another example for each topic.

I wanted to make the booklet as simple as possible, so the readers will understand and find this book helpful, so I made the examples very clear. For the design, I used the bubbles as another example on the page. For example, on the contrast page, the first example has 4 yellow ducks and 1 pink duck, however, there’s also two big bubbles in the background that are different colors, to show contrast. On the repetition page, the example is on the bottom with the ducks, and repetition repeats with the bubbles as bullet points for the text. On the alignment page, the bubbles are aligned alongside the side of the page. For proximity, the bubbles are spread out, and grouped together, to show proximity. So, although the ducks are the main example for the whole book, I decided to make the design of the book continue with more examples.
